8/10 Patch Notes

Hello Guardians,


We have received a lot of feedback about faction balance after the global launch, and as a result, we will be making some adjustments to the balance in this patch.

Please refer to the patch details below.


Balance Patch Announcement 

  • Patch Schedule: August 11th, 2023 02:00 (UTC)
  • Contents: Adjusted balance of some Heroes and Units
  • Note:
    • The new balance will be applied after completing a Derby match.

    • Your battle records will be reset after the patch.

Patch Details 

Developer's Notes

Before global launch, we had applied a balance patch to Defense Derby based on the soft launch data. However, following the global launch, we’ve noticed that there have been instances where the game’s progression deviated from our intention. This has been found thanks to the invaluable feedback from our players and the data of the heroes and units used in the live server.

To ensure that the balance of the game is in the best state, we aim to iterate with balance patches as we deem necessary. Once the balance becomes stable, we will switch to periodic balance updates.

Balancing is our top priority. We value all feedback from players and will proceed with the balance adjustment whenever necessary. Please do not hesitate to raise your voice when you feel balancing is necessary.

This balance patch specifically deals with the heroes and units found to have severe balance issues that require immediate attention. Thus, not all the changes you hoped for have been applied, and you may find some aspects lacking. We will keep analyzing the gameplay data along with your feedback and make further adjustments as required. Please stay tuned for our next balance patch. We'll make sure to promptly communicate any planned changes ahead.

Spirit

Nalyn has the ability to recover Castle HP with her passive and active skills.

After assessing that not only the amount of HP restored was too high, but also Nalyn's attack power was higher compared to other Heroes, we are making the following adjustments:

  • Nalyn
    • Attack Power: decreased by 6.4% 
    • Passive Skill
      • The rate of HP restored decreased from 30% to 25%

Seria's active skill tends to be used against Boss Monsters, and the rate of damage reduction was too high.

Therefore, we have decreased the protection rate and adjusted the wave count to make it more suitable for normal monsters.

  • Seria
    • Active Skill 
      • Decreased wave counts from 4 to 3 
      • Decreased rate of damage reduction from 90% to 60%

Beast

Owlmancer's attack power is amplified as it continues to attack a single monster.

We are strengthening its effect to increase the efficiency of Owlmancer against huge monsters.

  • Owlmancer 
    • Before the patch 
      • Damage increases by 300% every 1.2 seconds, up to 900%.
    • After the patch 
      • Damage increases by 132% every 0.4% seconds, up to 1,216%.

Boss Monster 

Ping Pong is infamous for its ability to randomly change unit deployments and levels.

Especially considering it is hard for Guardians to collect enough units in the early stage, Ping Pong was too powerful. So we are making the following adjustment.

  • Ping Pong
    • Decrease Ping Pong's HP by 10% at wave 4

Summoner continuously summons mini-monsters which makes him harder to kill as time delays. 

However, it was too weak during the early waves, so we are increasing its HP and attack power.

  • Summoner
    • HP increased by 5% at wave 4
    • HP increased by 10% and attack power increased by 3.4% at wave 8 

Blocker has a shield that blocks attacks regardless of Guardian's attack power.

However, it is weak in the late game compared to the other boss monsters. So we are increasing its HP in the late game.

  • Blocker
    • HP increased by 19% at wave 12
    • HP increased by 28% at wave 16
    • HP increased by 32% at wave 20
