Hello Guardians.
The 9th update, scheduled for May 2nd,
contains co-op battles as mentioned in the previous creation note(link: https://cafe.naver.com/defensederbyofficial/13909)
In future updates, we plan to add a guild system, make improvements to Season Pass, Quests, Derby Requests, the League system, and equipment for growth enhancement. We plan to update a variety of other content as well.
This development note addresses first co-op play and the guild system,
and the next patch note will explain all of the updated content.
The development team has been considering what content is needed since the end of last year and has been working on co-op.
At last, 2-player co-op battles and guild content will be reflected in the 9th update on May 2nd.
In the coming patch note, we will explain more detailed information about co-op and the guild system, as well as our expectations and reasons for adding this content.
We hope you are excited by what you find below, and we welcome any feedback you may have.
2-Player Co-Op Battles
Co-op is a new mode that allows you and a partner to work together to clear waves, rather than compete against each other.
After making a deck with a hero and units and starting a co-op match, you find a partner and the battle begins.
You can think of it as a worry-free, non-competitive match.
Find relief from the stress of competition and think of your partner's high level and skill as being positives, rather than worry about them.
Protecting the Castle Stone Together
Guardians come together to fight the increasingly powerful monsters.
The mysterious Castle Stone gathers their castles together, and the Guardians head to the Pioneer Lands.
Play with No Worries
2-Player Co-Op aims to have light gameplay.
Rather than intense chip betting, the focus is on fun provided by your custom deck which you can enjoy over and over again.
In Co-op, instead of scouting you simply purchase the units you want from your personal store and merge them to clear increasingly stronger waves.
Co-Op Wave Strategies
2-Player Co-Op mode consists of many waves.
Each wave has a set difficulty. Monster types and routes vary by wave.
Even high-level Guardians should cooperate with their partners to deploy units in response to enemy types and routes in order to clear higher waves.
At the same time, even low-level Guardians can help clear more waves by making their deck consist of units that will be of help to their partner.
Random Merging and Multiple Deployments
In 2-Player Co-Op, as in Derby, units that are the same can be merged.
Just as in Derby, a unit's grade can go up to 3 stars.
However, it differs from Derby in the following three ways:
1. The merged unit's type is determined by a random type in your deck
2. If the unit that comes out of a merge is one that is already deployed, you can have multiple of the same unit deployed (with good luck you could have 8 Rogue Mouse units and become rich in Derby Chips).
3. Two identical 2-star units are required to create a 3-star unit
The reason for changing the basis for creating a 3-star unit compared to Derby is the greater number of cards in co-op increasing the risk of making the tempo too quick.
Future Updates
Here is the content list to be added to Co-Op in the next update.
We will make every effort to present these changes to our Guardians as soon as we can.

Guild System
The aim of the guild system is to allow all guild members to grow together, and ultimately for stronger guilds to be able to prove themselves through competition.
With the first guild update, joining a guild will provide benefits and there will be missions for guild members to complete together.
We expect these changes will provide an environment where many people join guilds and are active in them.
Daily Guild Chests and Missions
Guild chests will be added, and will be distributed daily for free. They can be opened for a variety of rewards.
In addition, you can gain keys to open guild chests by completing daily and weekly guild missions with other members.
Also, a contribution level based on guild mission performance and a ranking within the guild for contribution will be added.
Each time a mission is completed it adds to the contribution, and additional keys are distributed weekly according to this number.
Guild Co-Op Battles (First Half of Year)
In this content, 4 guild members will come together to clear waves.
Seasonally changing heroes and units must be used to clear all the way up to the final wave.
Our goal is to provide this update in the first half of the year!
Going forward, we plan to provide updated features for guild management and ease of use.
We are exploring a variety of additional content and systems for guilds internally, and we hope you are looking forward to them.
We welcome any feedback you may have about co-op or the guild benefits we have introduced here.
Thank you for reading.
