Update #9 Patch Notes

Hello Guardians.

I'd like to share the patch notes for the update scheduled for May 2nd.

This season introduces new systems such as Faction Leagues, Duo, and Guild improvements.

Additionally, you can collect Golden Grails from Derby and Season Pass to get fabulous unit skins and various currencies at the Divine Exchange.

*These changes will take effect starting with the Souls of Dawn season in May, following the update.

Duo

Duo mode is designed for two players to work together with the goal of reaching higher waves.

Friendship Summon

You will collect Friendship Star Pieces with each wave cleared. With 30 Friendship Star Pieces, you can do a Friendship Summon. From this type of summon, you can obtain cards up to legendary. As you progress to higher areas in the Guardian's Journey, the quantity of cards and the probability of obtaining higher-tier cards from the Friendship Summon increase.

Play Restrictions

Duo mode requires an entry ticket, which recharges one every 8 hours, up to a maximum of 3 tickets. You can participate in Duo mode if you have more than total of 200 Derby Points.

Gameplay

In Duo, you and your partner must protect the Castle Stone. The game ends if the Castle Stone is destroyed. In Duo, there is no scouting; you can purchase your desired cards from the shop. Purchased cards go into your hand, which you can then deploy to the castle or combine them for enhancements. The cards displayed in the shop correspond to the units equipped in your Duo deck. All monsters appearing in Duo have a 30% resistance to slow, stun, and knockback effects.

League

The existing league system has been restructured into faction-specific leagues. After the update, players will compete within leagues based on their main faction. The order of the leagues and the required Derby Points for progression have been adjusted. Additionally, the amount of Derby Points provided based on rankings within each league has been modified.

Derby Points Required for Promotion

League Demotion

A demotion system has been added to the leagues. If your Derby Points fall below the starting point of your current league, you will be immediately demoted to the league below.

Consecutive Win Bonus

You will receive additional Derby Points based on your winning streak, allowing you to climb the leagues more quickly. The winning streak bonus varies by league, and the higher the league, the smaller the bonus amount.

Guardian's Journey

The existing Guardian's Journey has been revamped to utilize your total Derby Points, which are the sum of all faction Derby Points. Guardian's Journey spans from Area 1 to Area 21, and unlocking higher areas allows you to receive greater benefits at the season's end. Once an area is unlocked, it does not lock again.

Season Settlements

At the end of the season, you can receive additional rewards based on your level of play during the season. When the season ends, your total Derby Points will decrease by a certain amount, and Golden Grails will be awarded based on the amount of decreased Derby Points. The higher the area, the more Derby Points are reduced, but more Golden Grails are awarded for each point of reduction. The reduction of Derby Points due to the season settlement affects up to three areas. However, the reduction will not bring any faction's Derby Points below 100.

Divine Exchange

Golden Grails can be used to purchase golden unit skins and various other items. You can obtain Golden Grails through the Season Pass, Premium Pass, and season settlement rewards. More golden unit skins will continue to be added in the future.

After the league restructuring, existing players will see adjustments in their Derby Points.

The main faction will be aligned as closely as possible to the same league as before. However, some users in the Iron League will be excluded. The second and third factions will have their Derby Points adjusted to be lower than the main faction, calculated as (Main Faction Derby Points - 500) x 60%.

The main faction is determined based on the gameplay. If, after the update, the main faction is set incorrectly, please contact customer support so that we can quickly correct and make adjustments.

Season Pass & Quests

Season Pass

Season Pass has been revamped.Season Pass can still be completed by accumulating Season Points, which are earned through Derby play and daily or seasonal quests. Season Pass has been expanded from 35 levels to 60 levels, mainly offering rewards such as Golden Grails, artifacts, and Cubics. Even after reaching level 60 on the Season Pass, you can continue to collect Season Points to obtain Season Chests. The time requirement to unlock each level has been removed, allowing for faster progression through the pass.

Premium Pass

If you purchase the Premium Pass, you can acquire premium unit skins.Premium Pass contains Legendary Unit Selection, Gems, Golden Grails, and artifacts. Upon purchase, you'll immediately gain 3,000 Season Points. Additionally, exclusive quests for Premium Pass holders are added to the season quests, allowing you to earn even more Season Points.

Quests

The existing daily and weekly quests have been revamped into daily quests and season quests.

Completing these quests will earn you Season Points. Daily quests reset every day, and you can earn up to 300 Season Points per day. Season quests reset with each season, and including premium quests, you can earn a total of 19,000 Season Points. New quests are unlocked 21 days, 14 days, and 7 days before the end of the season.

Guild

In the first guild update, benefits for joining a guild and guild missions will be introduced.

Claim various rewards through daily guild chests that can be opened, and complete guild missions that provide additional keys to unlock these chests.

Guild Chests

Guild chests have been introduced, allowing you to open a free daily chest and receive various rewards. You can use silver guild keys to open additional chests. From these guild chests, you can obtain Gold, Elixir, and Cubics.

Guild Missions

Guild missions are accomplished collectively by all guild members. Play the game together with your guild members and earn rewards as a team.

Contribution

You earn progress toward your Contribution every time you complete a guild mission. Each week, you can earn additional silver guild keys based on your contribution ranking within the guild. To qualify for extra rewards, you must have at least 20 Contribution.

Growth System Improvements

Army Level

We are removing the army level system to allow players to freely level up their heroes and units.

With the elimination of army levels, the amounts of Gold and Elixir rewards have been increased. The daily limit for Derby participation increases from 469% to 860% depending on the league. Derby 1st place rewards increase from 150% to 295% based on league level. Garrison rewards increase from 16.7% to 27.9% depending on the level.

Existing players will receive retroactive Gold and Elixir compensations according to their previous army levels, delivered to their inbox.

Gems previously used for army slot expansions will also be compensated this way.

Additionally, existing army slot badges will be converted into special badges.

Hero Level

Hero levels, which were previously automatically set based on the army level, can now be developed individually.

Altar

Altar will be removed due to the revamp of the overall growth system.

Valley of Trials Hero Bonus

A hero bonus feature has been added to the Valley of Trials.

By equipping the bonus hero in your deck and clearing the Valley of Trials, you can obtain additional Faction Crystals. The bonus hero changes daily.

Note that using the Clear option for the Valley of Trials does not grant bonus Faction Crystals.

Crystal Exchange

Crystal Exchange will open, where you can purchase Crystals with Faction Crystals.

Other Improvements and Changes

Edit Deck: League

You can create up to 5 decks for each faction.

All previously added decks will be reset, and Gems used for adding these decks will be compensated through the mail.

Edit Deck: Blitz

You can now create a preset deck dedicated for Blitz.

Derby

Now, monsters will not cross corners when pushed back. Additionally, an effect has been added to the minimap to clearly indicate when an opponent's monster HP is restored.

Hero's Journey

Chapters in the Hero's Journey are now unlocked based on Derby Points instead of army level. When unlocked, the recommended card levels will be displayed.

Badges

The rewards for unit badges have been changed from Cubics to Gems.

Today's Exclusive Deals

In Today's Exclusive Deals, Crystals will be displayed instead of Faction Crystals.

※ These changes will take effect once the items are refreshed after update.

New User System and Event Revamp

Tutorials

The tutorial will now include guidance on Duo mode and how to level up heroes.

Tips on Blitz and Garrison Rewards will be removed from the tutorial.

Guide Missions

Guide missions have been revamped to align with the updated game content.

Rookie Guardian Events

The rewards and missions for the Rookie Guardian Missions have been reformed.

Misc.

The Castle button no longer shows a red dot even when heroes and units can be leveled up.

The guide system that currently appears during the first 10 Derby matches has been adjusted to appear only during the first 7 matches.

Access to Blitz has been moved to the Adventure screen.

If re-entry into a battle fails due to a system issue, that battle will automatically be nullified.

Bug Fixes

The issue where touches were intermittently not recognized after battles has been fixed.

The problem of occasionally being unable to re-enter battles has also been resolved.

The issue where replays did not accurately reflect the actual battle has been corrected.
