Update #6-1 Patch Notes

Hello, guardians.

Today, we're sharing some info about our February balance update.

We are applying this patch for balancing so that the spirit physical and beast magic heroes and units can perform better.

We are also nerfing Osborn, whose win rates and pick rates have been steadily increasing.

The Defense Derby team has been actively refining and experimenting with the gameplay to reduce the length of Derby playtime, responding to feedback that it has been excessively long.

We are currently evaluating the recovery and crowd control (CC) skills to implement necessary adjustments in the upcoming patch at the earliest.

Additionally, gameplay stats, such as win rates, are being prepared to be updated on a regular basis starting from sometime in February.

February Balance Updates


  • Heroes

  • Seria
    • Seria is a hero designed for skilled players who can maintain their strength and withstand the early waves through expert wave management. However, it is true that she has a much higher operational difficulty compared to other heroes.
      To reduce Seria's operational difficulty and address her weakness of becoming too weak too quickly in the later waves, we're making the following adjustments.
      • Increased attack power by 20%
      • Increased the duration for her active skill Crystal Barrier
      • Before the patch: Protects the castle from attacks for 4 sec, reducing the damage taken by 60%.
      • After the patch: Protects the castle from attacks for 6 sec, reducing the damage taken by 60%.
  • Rake
    • Rake is an attractive hero capable of restricting opponents' units, but she exhibits lower win rates compared to other heroes due to her insufficient wave defense capabilities.
      To improve Rake's overall usability, we're adjusting her passive skill as follows.
      • Change of target for her passive skill Mark of the Raven
      • Before the patch: Damage to common monsters by all ally units increases.
      • After the patch: For all allies, damage to common monsters increases.
        *The term "allies" includes heroes and units
  • Osborn
    • Osborn, a physical hero, harmonizes well with both physical and magic units, showing high win rates across all types.
      Osborn's powerful attacks and effective defensive active skills are reasons for his high pick rate.
      To align his operational difficulty with heroes of similar nature, his active skills will be adjusted as follows.
      • Increased wave count for his active skill Tremor
      • Before the patch: 3 waves
      • After the patch: 4 waves
  • Units

  • Owlmancer
    • Owlmancer's special ability Amplify makes his damage stronger with each attack on the same target, which inflicts very powerful continuous damage on monsters when it reaches its maximum stage.
      However, the amplification was often interrupted when the target got pushed away or moved out of range, making it difficult to operate effectively.
      To ensure Owlmancer's attacks to be effective in more situations, we're making the following adjustments.
      • Decreased the amplification steps for his special ability Amplify
      • Before the patch: 9 times
      • After the patch: 5 times
      • Increased the damage increase rate per amplification
      • Before the patch: 32%
      • After the patch: 63%
  • Mammoth Bomber
    • Mammoth Bomber's powder kegs, which push monsters away, were very effective for wave defense.
      However, they could be excessively powerful when attack speed buffs were applied.
      Therefore, we're making the following adjustments.
      • Decreased the distance pushed back by his special ability Powder Keg
      • Before the patch: 5.0 tiles
      • After the patch: 4.1 tiles
  • Divine Warden
    • Divine Warden is designed to be a definitive counter against boss monsters, but still shows disappointing performance.
      To enhance his special ability and make sure he can be effectively utilized as a unit to counter bosses, we're making the following adjustments.
      • Special Ability: Divine Strike
        RankDamage when attacking a boss monster
        1-Star50% → 100%
        2-Star150% → 100%
        3-Star150% → 200%
  • Moon Night
    • Moon Night is a unit designed to maximize damage by accumulating as many attacks as possible. However, due to her low attack speed, it is difficult to utilize her special ability.
      Although recent balance adjustments have provided her with respectable offensive capabilities, she still shows disappointing performance to fill in one of the gaps in the spirit physical deck.
      • To enhance Moon Night's performance and make her more enjoyable to utilize, we are transforming her into a unit centered around attack speed. The adjustments will be as follows:
      • Increased attack speed
      • Before the patch: 3.2 seconds
      • After the patch: 1.6 seconds
      • Decreased attack power by 60%


  • Artifacts

  • To encourage more diverse usage of artifacts, the performance of the following artifacts will be adjusted.
    • Ultimate Title
      • Increased hero attack power
      • Before the patch: 20%
      • After the patch: 35%
    • Crimson Returns
      • Increased critical damage
      • Before the patch: 20%
      • After the patch: 50%
