Hello Guardians.
We would like to inform you about the patch notes for the update scheduled for February 28th.
This update will bring new units along with enhancements in matchmaking, Derby, and other content.
We have also addressed various bugs and implemented improvements based on your feedback.
We greatly appreciate your contributions and feedback, which are invaluable in making Defense Derby better.
In the next update, we plan to make adjustments for the HP restore amount of Nalyn's skill, and the currently disappointing performance and pick rates of heroes such as Leon and Rake.
However, please note that these changes are still under internal testing and the heroes subject to modification may change.

March Season: "Mystic Woods"
In our new season beginning in March, Mystic Woods, a new Beast unit called Prince Frog III and a new Spirit unit called Little Satyr will be introduced.
Prince Frog III will be joining Derby from 2/28/2024 (Wed) 00:00 UTC.
Following that, Little Satyr will be joining from 3/13/2024 (Wed) 00:00 UTC.
League and Matchmaking
- The criteria for leagues undergoing Derby Point reset will change.
- (Before the patch) Above Diamond III league
- (After the patch) Above Master IV league
- The amount of Derby Points gained, which was adjusted based on the Derby Ppoint difference between matched players, will be modified to be more appropriate.
- Additionally, the matchmaking logic will be adjusted to facilitate smoother matchmaking in each league.
Derby
Redrawing the Initial Guaranteed Cards (Mulligan)
- At the start of Derby, players will now be able to redraw the 2 cards they are given initially during the preparation time for the first wave.
- Tapping the Spin Again button within the allotted time will randomly select 2 cards from the same deck of 8 cards, which includes the original pair.
- Given the random nature of this redraw, it is also possible to receive the same 2 initial cards again.
Chip Leader
- Changes in Logic
- When a chip leader fails to survive the Derby, they will no longer retain their status as chip leader.
- The next chip leader will be determined based on the same logic as the initial selection: the surviving player with the highest number of chips. If there is a tie in chip count, the next chip leader will be chosen randomly between them.
- Chip Leader FX
- Visual effects will be added to make the chip leader more recognizable.
FX for Ping & Pong's Special Ability
- The visual effects for Ping & Pong's special ability will be enhanced to more clearly highlight the change in the units' card ranks.
Content and Systems
Hero's Journey Revamp
Following the maintenance on February 28th, Hero's Journey will reopen.
Previously, players had to play through each of the three difficulty levels twice. However, this has been changed so that players now only need to complete their chosen difficulty level once.

Derby Requests Revamp
- Improvements will be made to ensure you don't miss out on requests you're interested in.
- Once a request is accepted, it will not reset or refresh unless you tap the Cancel button.
- Unaccepted requests will continue to auto refresh at 00:00 UTC.
- Additionally, the occurrence of artifacts appearing in Derby Requests even after reaching their maximum level has been addressed.
- As of the patch on February 28th, Cubics will appear in requests instead of artifacts when all artifacts are at their maximum level.

Misc.
- The unit icons in the next scouting card information will now display the skin you have equipped.
- In scouting, the card's faction and type icons will always be shown.
- The color presentation for cards during scouting will now reflect the unit's unique color instead of the standard color for common cards.
- When attempting to change the deployment in a non-changeable state, inputs will be temporarily saved for a short duration, providing a smoother operation experience, especially in low-quality network environments.
- When adding units or artifacts in the deck, tapping the Use button will now immediately equip them in an available space. Drag and drop functionality remains as an alternative method.
- The Auto Fill and Remove All options for decks will now also automatically fill or remove artifacts.
- The description of Plaguemancer's special ability will be revised to add more details.
- The guide text for removing units from army slots will be revised for more clarity.
- The castle skin icon and preview screen will now indicate whether BGM is included.
- The castle skin preview has been updated to allow viewing of the skin in combat screen.
- The probability of receiving a high quantity of Faction Crystals in Today's Exclusive Deals and the chance of receiving a high bonus will be slightly reduced.
- Purchasing Gems will be disabled during the tutorial.
- When all rewards from reaching certain points in daily and weekly quests have been collected, the quest indicator (red dot) will no longer be displayed.
- Upon collecting all rewards from daily quest point milestones, the quest screen will automatically default to displaying the weekly quests.
- Vietnamese will be removed from the language options.
- The FX of unit icons moving on the minimap will be adjusted.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where some buttons did not play the tap sounds.
- Fixed an issue where opening the profile would incorrectly increase the count of Derbies Won.
- Fixed an issue where some hero and unit attack animations did not display correctly.
- Fixed an issue where some filters in Derby's deck editing were not working properly.
- Fixed an issue where Seria's active skill FX played for shorter than its duration.
- Fixed an issue where losing a Derby match could decrease the Derby Points below the league's lower limit.
- Fixed an issue where unit deployment restrictions were displayed in the Artifact tab during Hero's Journey's deck editing.
- Fixed an issue where touches would intermittently not work on iOS devices after returning to the app via gestures from external links.
- Added exception handlings for situations where quickly moving more than one unit in Derby could result in their positions being swapped.
